Product Description

Make any special occasion truly unforgettable in this Dove vintage kimono shirt. This top is made of pure silk Kurotome and Haori fabric that offers a flowy feeling with the colorful Dove design on hem and sleeve. This is our collaboration piece with Chicco, a talented designer from Gunma prefecture where Meisen Kimono is very popular in Japan. This one of a kind antique kimono is carefully picked and dry-cleaned.

There is a slight stain on left 「家紋」"Kamon" family crest mark on the shoulder. This truly vintage piece exhibit slight signs of wear and a mild scent from decades in storage. We checked all our Kimonos carefully and mention the defects we found in the text. Nevertheless, they are vintage so they might have some minor age-related flaws which we didn’t detect. We trust that you have invested in our items for this imperfection and appreciate these differences.

★Care Instruction★

Wash separately! The color might bleed. Do not use an iron directly as Kimono is very delicate and we don't really wash it in Japan because you risk shrinking the kimono even putting it into water. Dry cleaning is our recommended way to clean kimono fabric. If you want to try hand washing, here are some step's (shown in www.oldjapan.org)

① Fill the tub with water, filling to the brim and keep water running that it keeps slowly overflowing.
② Before putting in the detergent, gently wash by hand. Be careful this time never trodden or scrubbing!
③ Turn off the water flow and put in a very mild detergent such as Baby Soap, this soap will help preserve the garment’s natural oils also make sure the detergent does not contain bleach.).
④ Please gently wash by hand.
⑤ Turn the water flow on so that the water becomes clean again and rinse the item until all soap residue has been removed. (Add a few drops of hair conditioner to the rinse water to keep the silk soft and flexible.) To keep the silk from yellowing, add ½ cup of vinegar to the rinse water.
⑥ Press the water out of the fabric by rolling it in a towel. Do not twist or wring, as this will damage the fabric

⑦ Hang the kimono dress (not in the sun) on a kimono hanger to dry completely.
⑧ Iron only when absolutely necessary. Use a cool iron with a press cloth between the iron and the fabric.
