🌸 Sakura Matsuri 2026 Recap: A Weekend at the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC

There are some moments in business that feel less like work and more like a quiet confirmation that you are on the right path.

For me, this year’s participation in Sakura Matsuri, the Japanese Street Festival, part of the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC, was one of those moments.

After spending time in Japan and continuing to refine the direction of Arta Asiatica, being able to share my work in person again felt incredibly meaningful.

❤️ A Return to Inspiration

Just before the festival, I traveled to Japan to source materials and reconnect with the inspiration behind Arta Asiatica.

From traditional textiles to the quiet beauty of everyday craftsmanship, it was a reminder of the intention and detail that I want every piece to carry.

That sense of inspiration stayed with me throughout the weekend.

🛍️ Bringing Arta Asiatica to Life

This year, I participated as an artist, which meant every piece at my booth was handmade by me.

That made the experience feel even more personal.

The collection included:

  • Handmade scrunchies using Japanese fabrics
  • Kimono inspired headbands
  • Carefully crafted hair accessories designed for everyday wear

Seeing people take their time, feel the fabrics, and choose pieces that resonated with them is something I will never take for granted.

🤍 Familiar Faces and Meaningful Feedback

One of the most special parts of this year was seeing familiar faces.

Several of you came back after supporting Arta Asiatica last year, which truly meant so much to me.

Hearing your feedback, your kind words, and even seeing you wearing pieces you previously purchased was incredibly encouraging.

It is a reminder that this brand is growing not just through products, but through real connections.

✨ Looking Ahead to Custom Pieces

Another highlight was the number of you who asked about custom pieces.

I am really excited about this.

Being able to create something more personal and tailored is something I have been wanting to explore, and I cannot wait to start working on these requests.

If you spoke with me at the booth, I am looking forward to bringing your ideas to life.

🌿 A Moment of Transition

The past year has been a time of reflection and rebuilding, both personally and creatively.

This weekend felt like a quiet turning point.

Not a big announcement and not a dramatic shift, just a steady step forward into something more refined and intentional.

🌸 What’s Next for Arta Asiatica

Right now, I am taking everything I have experienced, from Japan to Sakura Matsuri, and channeling it into the next chapter of the brand.

You can expect:

  • More refined, intentional designs
  • A stronger focus on craftsmanship and storytelling
  • Limited, thoughtfully created pieces

The shop is now open again, and I will be slowly sharing more in the coming weeks.

🤍 Thank You

To everyone who stopped by, supported, shared feedback, or has been quietly following along, thank you.

Your support truly means everything.
